An unfortunate news for the world cricket fraternity is that former Indian cricketer Anshuman Gaikward died after battling cancer. He was born on the 23rd of September 1952 in the Indian state of Maharashtra. He was 71. In his cricket career, he played 40 matches and 15 one-day internationals (ODI) for India. His debut match was against the West Indies team in the Eden Garden from 1974 to January 1975. His career's last game was played in Guwahati against West Indies in 1987. He was also appointed the Indian team coach for the ICC Champions Trophy. Recently, BCCI released financial aid to him for his better health.
